Celebrating youth at the 20th edition of FFi ♡

For almost two decades, we have been bringing you queer stories about love, freedom and the courage to be yourself. And 2026 will be no different.
The 20th edition of the Queer Film Festival will take place from 18 to 24 November 2026 at Kino Lumière and Edison Filmhub in Bratislava. As in previous years, the festival’s rich film programme will be divided into the following sections:

  • Shorts – International Competition
  • Panorama (highlights of contemporary queer cinema)
  • Classics
  • Queer Czecho-Slovakia
  • Kids’ Zone

The feature films and shorts explore relationships, family, the search for identity and social issues. The festival offers a chance to discover queer cinema in its many forms, with stories that cross national borders and challenge conventional thinking. It welcomes everyone with an interest in film and the world around us.

The story of FFi began in 2007. The first edition took place from 12 to 14 November at Bratislava’s Kino Tatra, showcasing a selection from the Czech Mezipatra festival. It built on a tradition of gay and lesbian film showcases held in Slovakia since 1995.
Twenty years on, FFi is looking ahead – as a space that continues to live life to the fullest. For us, youth means energy, openness, freedom and a desire to discover new stories.

20 years. Live life to the fullest.
Bringing you films that celebrate a love of life.
