About the festival

WELCOME!

We are pleased to welcome you to the Slovak Gay & Lesbian Film Festival 2010, held from 29 September to 3 October at 35mm Film Club, a two-screen cinema of Film and Television Faculty, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava.

Under the auspices of our patron, the well-known Slovak actress Zuzana Kronerová, the festival is about to present more than thirty full-length and short films. It is organised by a non-profit organisation Iniciatíva Inakosť, together with a team of dedicated volunteers.

Presenting the best of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender cinema, the festival aims to increase awareness of issues concerning sexual minorities, challenge preconceptions and celebrate diversity. Due to prevailing homophobia in Slovakia, we believe that the issues of our concern need wider public attention and exploration. The festival strives to offer an engaging and thought-provoking experience, while promoting equality and encouraging dialogue.

We look forward to welcoming you at the festival,

Organisational team of FFi
